KTX train drivers are
selected from those who have been serving as train
drivers for more than five years and by administering
a composite assessment of their aptitude level,
health conditions, etc. KTX train drivers are trained
through a systematic program consisting of theory,
practical study and test-driving. It takes a minimum
of approximately five months to train a single train
driver for the KTX. Train drivers must successfully
complete a series of programs (stage 1 is theory,
stage 2 is simulator training, stage 3 is repair
management training, stage 4 is actual driving practice
and stage 5 is route recognition training). After
which, the position as a KTX train driver is granted
and deemed worthy to serve at an actual job site.

Chiefs of the KTX Train
Team are to manage devices related to operating
the train safely, which range from entrance doors
to the broadcasting system within the vehicle. They
strive to secure safety inside the train by administering
prompt actions under various circumstances and taking
responsibility for emergency measures.
Chiefs of the KTX Train Team are selected from personnel
who have been engaged in areas of sales for at least
four years, including two years or more as a conductor,
and have gone through an aptitude and written examination.
After completing five weeks of training and one
month of apprenticeship, the position as chief of
the KTX Train Team is granted. |

The main roles for the
female KTX crews are to provide services to enable
passenger comfort via reception, on-board broadcasting,
food and beverages, facility management services,
etc. After being selected from highly competitive
resumes and interviews, the female KTX crewmembers
undergo a training course at the KNR Training Institute
of Management in Euiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. After
completing an on-site practical training course,
the female crewmembers are ready to provide KTX
on-board services with a warm smile and hospitality.
